International Seminar Series

It’s a Journey Not a Destination: Setting the Course to Map Illinois State University Efforts to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collection of 17 interlinked objectives designed to tackle the world’s most pressing challenges by 2030. The most ambitious and arguably important global agreements in recent history, the SDGs cover a wide range of complex social, economic, and environmental challenges. How we address them will require transformations in how societies and economies function and how we interact with our planet. The Center for Civic Engagement, the Office of International Engagement, and the Office of Sustainability are exploring how Illinois State University can engage with the SDGs to not only contribute to the global effort, but also to demonstrate our campus’s global impact. This International Seminar Series will feature four sessions that can be attended in sequence or separately to engage with the SDGs as well as brainstorm and map our course to utilizing the SDGs as a campus community.
