Human Resources will be coming to Fell Hall to process I-9s for international students who have already accepted on-campus positions. Enjoy refreshments while you wait and don’t forget to bring your original immigration documents with you (Passport, Visa, and I-94)!

 

Get your Redbird Card

International Orientation Team Members will take you to the Redbird Card Office in the Bone Student Center so that you can recieve your Redbird ID Card.

 

Shopping Trip

5:00pm-7:00pm

OIE Lobby
Second Floor, Fell Hall

Please gather in the OIE lobby for a trip to the Shoppes at College Hills (Walmart) to shop for clothing and supplies.

Understanding Your Responsibilities as an F1/J1 Visa Student

A panel of current international students will share their stories and experiences and answer questions from new international students as we enjoy lunch.

 

Maintaining Your Health & Wellness

Presenters from Student Health Insurance and Student Health Services will highlight the health resources avaialbe to students at Illinois State and discuss how to navigate the health insurance process.

 

Campus Safety and
Emergency Preparedness

Representatives from the Illnois State University Police Department and Environmental Health and Safety Unit will present information about campus safety and emergency preparedness.

  Managing Your Student Account and Finances

9:00-10:00am

Staff from the Student Accounts Office will talk to students about navigating and understanding their student account, payment options, and other billing questions.
  Exploring On-Campus Employment

10:00-11:00am

Students will learn about the immigration rules related to employment, discover the various ways Career Services can assist them, and learn how to find and apply for on-campus jobs.

 

Introduction to Social Security and Taxes

11:00-12:00pm

Students will learn how to apply for a Social Security Number (SSN), submit and update their I-9 hiring paperwork, and the basics of the U.S. tax system.

Campus Tour
